The 9th EASN International Conference on Innovation in Aviation & Space, the largest and most comprehensive gathering of the EASN Association so far thanks to its over 450 participants, was held in Athens, Greece on September 3rd-5th, 2019. The aim of the conference was dual: To act as a forum where innovative ideas, breakthrough concepts and disruptive technologies are presented, while in parallel be the place for disseminating the knowledge and results achieved in the frame of research projects of the aviation and space field.

The event included 9 Κey – Νote Lectures and more than 360 technical presentations distributed in approximately 70 sessions. Furthermore, 40 Horizon 2020 projects have disseminated their latest research results as well as the future trends on the respective technological field.

During the session “Industry 4.0 in Aeronautics”, ICARUS presented its paper “Digital Transformation in Aeronautics through the ICARUS Aviation Data and Intelligence Marketplace“, co-authored by Fenareti Lampathaki, Michele Sesana, Dimitris Alexandrou. ICARUS had the opportunity to discuss with many different aviation stakeholders and arranged for follow-up discussions to provide short demos of the ICARUS beta platform.
