ICARUS participated in one of the biggest Aviation events, the APEX exhibition 2018, that was organized in Hamburg Messe, Germany, on April 10th-12th, 2018 by the Airline Passenger Experience Association, a network of the world’s leading airlines, suppliers and related companies committed to elevating the level of the airline passenger experience. The co-located conferences and exhibitions included: the Passenger Technology Solutions (PTS), the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE), the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) and the Passenger Experience Conference (PEC), with the overall Passenger Experience Week portfolio attracting thousands of airline and rail representatives from more than 180 unique airline operators from around the globe each year.

ICARUS was represented in APEX exhibition 2018 by CELLOCK that participated in this year’s Passenger Technology Solutions (PTS) section and PACE that was present in the Aircraft Interior Expo (AIX) section. Both ICARUS partners introduced the project to several aviation experts and, despite the very early stages of the project, the feedback received regarding the aviation industry needs and the ICARUS project scope was more than encouraging for the future steps of the project! An interesting panel “Big Data, AI, Machine Learning and Automation – the new engines for travel innovation” was also held and concluded that airlines should share data with third parties to generate revenue as also advocated by ICARUS.
