AIA participated in the International Airport Summit, which took place virtually on October 19th-23rd, 2020. The event brought together over 1,400 attendees including 176 airports, over 100 speakers, 32 sponsors and exhibitors, who examined how airports and the aviation sector are managing their operations as they enter the restart and recovery phase post COVID-19 era.
In particular, Nikos Papagiannopoulos, Senior Project Manager at Athens Airport, participated in SESSION 3: HOW TO USE DATA EFFECTIVELY, on October 20th and presented the ICARUS project in light of the post COVID-19 and the new reality Socio-Economic Trends. He emphasized that data-based services and decision making, require a robust data sharing and analytics platform, which can be offered by the ICARUS platform. He also presented the data analytics use cases, the AIA’s use case in more detail and the ISI Air transportation network-based analysis for Epidemics spreading models.
