Due to the COVID19 outbreak, an ICARUS Plenary meeting was held online on October 12th-13th, 2020. The agenda of the meeting was structured along 4 main slots: (a) general activities slot, (b) technical progress update and planning workshop, (c) demonstrators’ workshop, and (d) impact creation slots.
As usual, the plenary meeting started with a project overview presentation highlighting the current status of the ICARUS project implementation, the revised workplan (in light of the 6-month extension of the project duration), and the key discussion points for the meeting. The technical workshop was next in the meeting agenda, focusing on the demonstration of the ICARUS platform release 1.50 highlighting the changes introduced in the ICARUS platform. Then, each demonstration partner provided a summary of the current progress (scenario overview, overview of the early demonstrator release, planning for the intermediate demonstrator release, test case execution status), explained the hands-on experience from the ICARUS platform so far (issues identified, new features requests, etc.) and defined the plan for the intermediate evaluation in February 2021, with regards to the business and technical KPIs assessment and the performance requirements from the ICARUS platform. The 1st day of the meeting closed with a discussion related to the data population of the ICARUS Platform by OAG, the 4 demonstrators and the technical partners (for open data).
The 2nd day of the ICARUS plenary meeting was focused initially on a technical discussion regarding the development and integration plan towards December 2020 (when release 2.00 is due). The features development plan and milestones were put into perspective, together with the interactions among the different components, the blocking points and the challenges faced as well as the user documentation aspects. In addition, the expected platform deployment was extensively discussed in light of the delays faced in the actual infrastructure availability. Then, status updates regarding the dissemination, communication and stakeholder engagement activities, as well as the exploitation activities, were provided in order to ensure that the ICARUS project maximizes its outreach and effectively plans its next actions through online mechanisms, in light of the COVID19 outbreak restrictions. Finally, the meeting concluded with the administrative issues wrap up, including the planning for the next plenary meetings.
